Kicking off the summer with Babiators! {a giveaway}

Summer has come to Northern Cali and with it triple digit temps! This is our first summer in California and while I am used to hot summers from living in Georgia, I wasn’t quite expecting it to be this hot here! The past 2 weeks we have stayed indoors during the hottest part of the day to avoid the scorching temps! However, we do like to get out in the early morning or evening to have some fun.

We like to head to the pool or park or just get out and run errands! When we do my girls are always asking for their sunglasses. I love that they are at the age now where they will leave them on and actually use them correctly.

This summer we are rocking Babiators for the first time. I’ve heard about Babiators and seen them around social media for a while so I knew we needed to try them. Babiators is on a mission to protect kids’ eyes from the sun while they’re out exploring this awesome world.

Here are just a few reasons the award-winning Babiators stand out from the crowd:

Safe: Babiators have UV400 lenses that offer 100% UVA and UVB protection and undergo rigorous testing to ensure they’re safe for your child – whether they’re on your child’s face or end up in your child’s mouth.

Durable: The sunglasses feature flexible rubber frames, and impact and shatter-resistant lenses that won’t break when you bend, twist, or step on them.

Awesome: Classic aviator sunglasses make sure your little one is the coolest kid around

Guaranteed: The best part? Babiators are backed by the Lost & Found Guarantee™ – if you lose or break your shades in the first year, Babiators will replace them for free. All you pay is shipping.

Fit: Babiators are made of a soft material that is comfortable and lightweight. They are designed to fit kids’ faces and don’t pinch the temples or nose. They are available in two sizes:

Junior Babiators sunglasses fit most babies 6 months to 3 years

Classic Babiators sunglasses fit most children 3 to 7 years

Did you know kids receive 3X more annual UV exposure than adults yet less than 30% of parents are currently protecting their children’s eyes with sunglasses? It’s true. Also, children’s eyes are more susceptible to sun damage because they have larger pupils and clearer lenses, allowing more UV to penetrate and reach the back of the eyes.

If you were like me and didn’t know this, fear not! You have the chance today to win your little one their very own pair of Babiators!

Win a pair of black Babiators. Just visit their website here , leave a comment below letting me know which is your favorite color! I’ll randomly pick a winner in 1 week! {GIVEAWAY CLOSED}

Mom Confessional+Win a $25 Visa card!

Hey Hey Hey, it’s Tuesday! I’m linking up with Karli over at September Farm for 10 on Tuesday!

I’m giving away a $25 Visa gift card at the end of this post so stick around.

I’m just feeling the need to be brutally honest today. A confessional of sorts. I think I’ve seen one too many crispy coordinated Instagram posts lately so I need to even the playing field some. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pretty, staged pic just as much as the next gal but 99% of the time, that is not my life. So here goes.

1//My living room looks like the aftermath of a toy explosion the majority of the time and it doesn’t bother me. I clean it up every other day or so. Meh.

2//I don’t vacuum. My husband does.

3//My kids watch tv…alot. Like you would probably mom judge me if you knew how much.

4//I wash my hair maybe twice a week.

5//Sometimes I put my kids to bed early because I.just.can’t.

6//I did not do Easter baskets this year…no egg hunts either, no pictures with scary bunnies or anything. I’m surprisingly ok with it.

7//Some days I think we could be done having kids….other days I want 4 more.

8//My husband and I both feel guilty for making them leave the majority of their toys 2,700 miles away when we moved…so sometimes they get a new toy like every week. Hence the toy explosion problem.

9//I don’t bathe them every night. nope.

10// My taste in food is like that of a teenage boy. Pizza? yep. Sweets? yep. Soda? yep. I have to make myself eat veggies. Except salad…I like salad.

So now that I’ve aired my laundry, it’s your turn.

1) Watch this video below because it is spot on. I can so relate to this mom…we’ve all been there!

2.) Leave me a comment telling me a confession, a mom-moment (good or bad) or a mom-dream. Anything that we moms can relate to and say “Hey I’ve been there sister!”

I’ll randomly choose someone to win a $25 Visa gift card. (US Residents only) GIVEAWAY CLOSED

#ChooseToSmooth (a review)

I’ve been a part of Influenster for almost 2 years now and I love it. I mean, who doesn’t love reviewing products you love for free? I’ve received all sorts of items to give my opinion on here and on my various social media channels. If you want to sign up feel free to use my referral link here. It’s free!

I was pumped when I was chosen for the #GlamVoxBox this time. Woot Woot.

In this box was a variety of great things but today I’m reviewing the Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive disposable razors and The Gillette Venus Olay Violet Swirl shaving cream.

Okay. I’m a hard core Gillette user already when it comes to my shaving products. Other brands just don’t work as well in my opinion. I thought this before trying these new Gillette products. These new items are just as great. The razors give a smooth, close shave and don’t give me a rash. They have a touch of Aloe in them so if you’re prone to sensitive skin you’ll like these. I like the pretty blue color of them as well. The shaving cream was awesome too. I like that it’s thick and leaves your legs so soft and smelling good! It’s supposed to leave your legs 5x smoother. I don’t know about all that but it leaves them smooth.

So that’s my short review. I highly recommend these 2 products.

**I received these products free for testing purposes from Influenster.

#Tastykakeminiwins review

Basically, the best way to make a very pregnant lady happy is to send her chocolate..or cake….or candy…or donuts. Better yet, send her a party hat and tell her to celebrate something WITH the cake.

That’s why I was so excited when I got the Tastykake Voxbox from Influenster . I wasted no time opening and testing the mini cakes. The flavor I got was “Hershey Cocoa” and it was delicious. This is evident by the fact that the entire box is almost empty. Everyone was a fan of this girls and my husband both loved them!

The theme behind this box and the Tastykakes is #tastykakeminiwins. Find a reason to celebrate! New job? Have a mini cake. Passed a test at school? Have a mini cake!

For me, I celebrated being 35 weeks pregnant! That was my #tastycakeminiwin.

Thank you Influenster for sending me these delicious TastyKakes!

Go! Go! Smart Friends® Busy Sounds Discovery Home™ {review + giveaway}

I am so excited about today’s post! One of you is going to have the chance to win this awesome product from VTech for your kiddo! Keep reading to see what my girls and I thought about the Go! Go! Smart Friends® Busy Sounds Discovery Home™ and see some cute pics of them playing with and exploring it!

vtech go go house

My girls were absolutely thrilled when I pulled out this box and told them I had a new toy for them! Emma kept asking if it was a present for her. I told her yes a present for her AND Alina. Emphasis on the AND!

It comes in a nice, big colorful box that doesn’t weigh too much. I easily lifted and carried it at 8 months pregnant.

I opened and took out the contents of the box, which are the pieces of the house as well as the Miss Norah character and her little dog. I probably should have set it up when I was not surrounded by 2 excited, wiggling girls with curious hands. You could set it up in 10 minutes or less in peace and quiet. It took me longer since I had to constantly reclaim the pieces from the little busy bodies.

The instructions are very easy to follow and the pieces snap together nicely. There is one screw involved so you will need a screwdriver but other than that it’s just simply a snap together project. There were even batteries included which I loved since I didn’t have any on hand! Once I got it set up I could no longer hold my girls back and let them have at it while I finished applying the stickers.

This house is so fun! There is so much going on with it that they both easily played with it without fighting over pieces and parts! Emma claimed the puppy character while Alina like the Miss Norah character best.

Here are some specifics about the Go! Go! Smart Friends® Busy Sounds Discovery Home™.

·         Explore the Go! Go! Smart Friends Busy Sounds Discovery Home with Miss Norah!

·         The interactive house features seven MagicPoint™ locations that encourage imaginative play and emphasize cause and effect relationships.

·         Simply place Miss Norah on one of the MagicPoint locations to experience her friendly personality, motion, lights and more.

·         Put Miss Norah in the elevator and watch as the elevator magically moves up and down.

·         Activate the MagicChat™ feature in the playroom, and hear Miss Norah and other MagicPoint characters (sold separately) chat and sing with each other.

·          Miss Norah also responds to other MagicPoint locations on Go! Go! Smart Friends accessories and playsets (each sold separately).

·         Press Miss Norah’s light-up button, and she will come to life by introducing herself, sharing the things she likes to do and singing two sing-along songs. It’s playtime where friendship leads to learning!

They had so much fun placing Miss Norah on the Magic Point locations throughout the house and hearing what she had to say. She sings songs, spells words and more! They especially love the elevator and potty magic points. Those were big hits! I mean a potty that flushes is like magic itself. The toy is recommended for ages 1-5 years and my girls are 3 and 1.5 and it is definitely appropriate for both of them.

They have played nonstop with this house since we set it up. I mean constantly! It is super interactive and there is so much to do and hear. I like a toy that has a lot of  play time with new aspects being discovered each time they press a button. They haven’t tired of it yet! I see lots of hours of fun being had with the Go! Go! Smart Friends® Busy Sounds Discovery Home™.

Shoes that Glitter – Swim

We are melting here in Georgia! Absolutely melting. When I was pregnant with Emerald I thought that was the absolute worst time of the year to be due (August 4th). Nope, I was wrong. Turns out what’s worse is having to go through the summer in its entirety and be due right when you would get some relief from the heat.

I really shouldn’t complain. We are blessed to have central AC and although I don’t crank it down as low as I would like to it keeps us cool when we’re inside.

When the girls do talk me into taking them outside, which is about once per day, I need the minimum amount of hassle to get them ready. I mean, I don’t want to take the time to find socks and tie tennis shoes when it’s flipping 107 degrees outside. We like flip-flops ok but they stub their little toes and I find the “thong” part usually rubs them when they’re playing so hard.

What’s a mom to do you ask?

Enter…. the perfect outside playing shoes for the melting days of Summer.

The Croc.

crocs shoes

I know, I know. I always had some preconceived idea about Crocs being tacky or something. Well as soon as I saw these babies listed on I was sold. They looked so cute with the bright colors and the glitter! I called Emma over to confirm that these were indeed every little girls dream come true and she said “Oh mama! Glitter….Purple!” with a dreamy look. I knew I had to get them.

I mean…look at that face.

Ordering from swim outlet was a piece of cake. They had a size chart that I ordered based off of since I had never ordered Crocs before and they fit exactly as they should!

These shoes are the best for saying “Ok we’re going outside, go grab your shoes”. They run to grab these and can put them on with no help. Well, I usually have to check that they are on the correct feet.

Needless to say we have found our favorite play shoes. They have worn them a dozen times at least already. These would be great for back to school (maybe with a thin sock) as well if your kids are going off to school.

August 2015 Ipsy Glam bag review

august glam bag

I was so excited to get my very first Glam bag from Ipsy this month! I had been trying to decide between Birchbox and Ipsy for awhile and I just went with Ipsy on a whim and I think I am going to love it! I am in no way a beauty blogger nor am I trying to be. My reason for reviewing these bags is for other moms who are like me. I wear makeup maybe 2-3 times a week and am trying to learn more about it and put more of an effort into it. I have been watching makeup tutorials and you tube videos late at night when I should be sleeping. I feel good when I wear it and really enjoy learning about how to apply it to complement my features. I figured Ipsy would be a good way to build up my hilariously “middle school- esque” makeup supply without breaking the bank. So here is my August Glam bag from Ipsy.

August Ipsy Glam bag

1. Albertini Divine Skin Hydrator. ($16) I received a tester version of this and I liked it. I have used these in shower lotions from other brands before and I love the way they leave my skin feeling. It’s not something I see as a necessity but it’s nice if I want something to pamper with. This particular one worked great but It had no scent, I wish it had a scent. I probably would not purchase a full size bottle for the price.

2. Doll 10 HydraGel blush in the color Flirt. ($16) I received a full size version of this blush. I have never used a cream blush but I must say that I loved it! It applies very pigmented but is able to be blended and smoothed easily. I love the way it looks. I have already worn it several times.

3. Noyah natural Lipstick in the color Desert Rose. ($18) I got a tester size of this one and again I loved it! Such a pretty color. I’m just getting into wearing lip color and this is a perfect starter one. Not too crazy, just a pretty pink rose color. I have worn it several times.

4. La Fresh Group, Good Night, Night Cream. ($40) I got a small tester of this night cream and I was very impressed. It has no scent but I love the way it makes my face feel. Even the next morning my skin feels soft and even brighter if that’s possible. I definitely can’t purchase a $40 night cream right now but I think it would be worth it if that’s your price range.

5. Lord and Berry, lipliner in Nude. ($18) This was probably my least favorite item in the bag, but I think that’s because I don’t know how to use it appropriately. It’s a pretty nude color but I’m not sure it’s for me. I need to experiment with it some more.

If you’re interested in signing up for Ipsy I do recommend it. It’s $10 a month and you can personalize your bag to your tastes. Click this link to sign up .Click Here.

p.s. I get extra points if you sign up through my link 😉

Leave a comment below if you got a glam bag too! I would love to check out your review or picture!

Review: NUK tableware

I was so thrilled when NUK contacted me to review some items. I am a huge fan of theirs and already use many of their products. I didn’t have to think twice about it.

These days the majority of our dishes are kid friendly. If you open our cupboards or look in the sink you will be greeted by brightly colored, plastic bowls, cups, plates, spoons, forks…etc. You get the picture. We use them and we use them a lot!

Here are the items I was sent to review.

nuk 1

1.  Bunch-a-bowls

2. Minnie Mouse learner cup

3. Rest easy spoons

First up, the Bunch a Bowls.  I am in love with these bowls. I can’t even put a number on how much we have used them since we got them. They are the perfect toddler-friendly size for dry cereal, raisins, sliced grapes, goldfish and crackers. Basically all of my girls’ favorite snacks. If we are on the go I just snap a lid on it and throw the bowl in my diaper bag. No worries about it spilling. They are dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe. You need these bowls if you have little ones that love snacks as much as mine do.

nuk 2

Next up,  the Minnie Mouse Learner cup. Another home run. The concept with this cup is to transition your baby from a bottle to a sippy cup seamlessly. It has a soft spout, it’s spill proof and the handles are removable. While Alina hasn’t been using a bottle for several months she still LOVES this cup. She actually prefers it to all her other sippy cups. My favorite parts are the removable handles for easy cleaning and that the handles themselves are so easy for a baby to grip.

nuk 3

nuk 4

Lastly, the Rest Easy spoons. Unfortunately I didn’t get an “Action shot” of our spoons in use. I assure you these are great spoons. Refer to the picture at the top of the post to see what they look like. They have a super soft tip and a spatula edge to wipe that extra baby food off of baby’s face. These are the perfect spoons to use while introducing your baby to pureed food. Even though my girls are passed that stage they still enjoy using them for eating yogurt, pudding and things like that. I know I will use these for our next baby coming in November as well.

Review: Neutrogena Naturals #wipeforwater

I have admit that I am terrible when it comes to remembering to wash my face. It was always a huge pet peeve of my sisters that I could fall asleep at night with my makeup still on and it seemed to have no effect on my complexion. I could wash my face with any soap or use any didn’t matter the brand and my face would never break out.

Ahhh…..the good ol’ days of youth. Now that I am considerably older than my teen years and I have time working against me I try to do better. To be honest though, it’s a pain to wash my face in the sink at night. I get water everywhere because my sink is so small and I hate using rags and so on and so forth. You know, real legit reasons.

This is why I was so excited when Influenster picked me for the Neutrogena Naturals VoxBox!

neutrogena 1

Since April was Earth month, Neutrogena® Naturals partnered with The Nature Conservancy to save water. I took the #WipeforWater challenge and pledged to clean my face without using water — and only using Neutrogena® Naturals Purifying Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes — for 3 days! For each pledge, Neutrogena® Naturals contributed $1 to The Nature Conservancy to support water conservation, up to $50,000.

neutrogna 2

After using the wipes 1, 2 and 3 days I must say that I am in love. These wipes are wonderful. They smell amazing and leave my skin feeling soft and moist. No grimy or greasy feeling. They remove my makeup very well although I had to really work to get all of my mascara off but that’s pretty normal for face wipes.

I really recommend these and I have continued to use these nightly although I do use water every now and again since my 3 day challenge was over. I am trying to be more conscious of the time I leave the water running so as to not waste it.

Thank you Influenster for introducing me to this product.

Review: Vicks Mini FilterFree CoolMist Humidifier

We have been so fortunate to not get sick very often around here. Maybe a handful of times a year one of us gets a cold. However, the new year started us off with a string of cold and flu-like symptoms for all of us. It was dreadful. Our poor old humidifier was huffing and puffing trying to keep up with us. We were moving it from room to room since we all needed it. I told my husband “we need a new humidifier, this one isn’t cutting it”.

That’s why I was so excited to try the Vicks Mini FilterFree Cool Mist Humidifer from Influenster! This thing is so compact yet efficient. It has a sleek, modern look, not bulky like our old one.

It’s cool-mist which is a must since heat would be a burn risk with my little ones toddling around. It is very quiet and only has a small light that glows in a dark room. Nothing too bright that would keep you awake.

vicks 3

I was able to read through the instructions quickly and set it up with no problems. I like that the water chamber isn’t so huge that I have trouble lugging it around. It is the perfect size to carry to the sink and fill up. The cleaning instructions were also fairly easy, requiring vinegar or bleach.

vicks 4

The soothing scent pads were also a surprising feature that I loved! You insert one into the chamber in the front of the humidifier and you are rewarded with the clarifying scent of menthol. Just like the Vicks vapo rub smell. It’s genius.

vicks 2

And last but not least it is filter free! Because who has time to remember to change the filter on your humidifier when you’re taking care of sick babies? Not me.

I think Vicks nailed it with this one. I am so happy with it and I know we are going to use it a ton. Thank you Influenster for sending me this product to review.
